Established in 2016 by Ben, Doug and later joined by Blake in 2021, bring a combined 60 years of experience in the electrical field. Our business is built on a commitment to customer satisfaction. Ben Knight

Ben started his electrical career as an apprentice, focusing on poultry sheds and general electrical work across South-East Melbourne. After completing his apprenticeship and earning his A-grade electrical license, he moved on to design and build switchboards for a well-known panel manufacturer. Ben’s next step took him to ABB, where he worked as a project manager.
As the company evolved, Ben saw an opportunity to shift into sales, allowing him to broaden his skill set and build a strong professional network. He has since completed various certifications, including AutoCAD, PowerCAD, KNX automation, corporate leadership and management, Microsoft Excel, and small business management.
Doug Smith
Director – Engineering & Drafting

Doug is a highly experienced professional with a strong dedication to his work. He began his career as an electrical fitter at 18, he then specialised in motor control and large-scale commercial lighting and power boards. Doug spent three years as a workshop foreman before starting his own business.
With a wealth of knowledge in switchboard design and innovation, Doug also brings solid skills in leadership, people management, and accounting, giving him a well-rounded approach to both the technical and business sides of his work.
Blake Edwards

Blake’s career began in the construction industry 2004 where he started his apprenticeship. In 2006, he transitioned to the switchboard industry, where he advanced his skills, leading him to production management. During his career, Blake gained invaluable experience designing and manufacturing switchboards for the Tier 1 construction industry, further enhancing his leadership, technical and decision-making skills.
In 2018, Blake joined the team at White Rhino as a Production Manager, and through his dedication and strategic vision, he partnered with Ben and Doug as a Managing Director in 2021. His wealth of experience and proven leadership make him a key asset in driving the success of White Rhino.
